Our crafts are a reproduction of everything that makes us unique – our history, our creativity, and our distinctive view of the world from our rugged, windblown home. Our carvings, shaped from soapstone and antler. Jewellery carefully crafted from labradorite and pewter. Rugs hooked using techniques passed down through four and five generations. You need only touch a piece of our craftwork and understand the energy and character moving through it.
Our rocky shores, icebergs moving lazily past, fishing boats built by our fathers and brothers, and the colourful jellybean-like houses in which we live stand as muses to hundreds of artists, painters, and craftspeople throughout our beautiful and eclectic province. Step inside our many studios, shops, or galleries and be enveloped in a kaleidoscope of the magnificent imagery and majesty of this place.
